This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information Bilingual Finder collects and how we use and protect it.
Who we are
Bilingual Finder is an online directory that helps parents in London discover bilingual and multilingual nurseries. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Bilingual Finder. You can contact us at any time at admin@bilingualfinder.co.uk.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
What information we collect
We only collect the information you choose to give us. When you submit an enquiry to a nursery through our site, we collect your name, email address, your child’s age (if you provide it), your preferred start date (if you provide it), and any message you write.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
How we use your information
We use the details you submit for one purpose: to pass your enquiry to the nursery you contacted and to respond to you about it. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Our lawful basis for processing this information is your consent, given when you choose to submit the enquiry form.
Who we share it with
When you send an enquiry, the details are shared with the specific nursery you enquired about so they can reply to you. We may also use trusted service providers to operate the site — currently Google (to record enquiry submissions) and Vercel (to host the website). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Maps on nursery pages are provided by OpenStreetMap, and our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; when these load, your browser shares your IP address with those services. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email admin@bilingualfinder.co.uk and we will respond.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Children’s data
Our enquiry form is intended to be completed by a parent or guardian. Where you provide a child’s age, we use it only to help the nursery respond appropriately. Please do not submit more information about a child than is necessary for your enquiry.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
